This year, the Gala Dinner will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre (http://www.adelaidecc.com.au/) which is located in the City which is perfect for such an important event. Details on ticket pricing and evening schedule will be made available as soon as possible.

GEELONG’S junior soccer clubs are likely to be permitted to field teams in the Football Federation Victoria competitions for the first time in seasons after a conditional recommendation from the Geelong Regional Football Association to the FFV.

A night of entertainment with fun for all to be held at North Geelong SC Club rooms. Enjoy the fun activites including: Lawn Bowls, Golf Putting, Poker and Raffles. Food shall be provided.

The Olyroos’ Beijing Olympics campaign in August is his main priority, but Spiranovic also hopes to be involved with the Socceroos’ World Cup qualifying campaign that starts against Qatar in Melbourne next month.

The 19-year-old flies back to Germany today after enjoying a Christmas break at his parents’ Highton home and said there was a lot to look forward to this year.

“There is a huge schedule coming up with Olyroos and the Socceroos and to be a part of the Olympic campaign would be a dream of mine,” Spiranovic said.

“So if I do get that chance, I’d love to be there. And the same with the Socceroos, if I’m fortunate to get the call-up.

“I totally enjoyed the first experience I had with the Olyroos in Qatar. I loved being there with the boys and I think going to the Olympics is what anyone would want to do.

“So, if everything goes well with injury, fitness and form, I’d love to be there.”

Spiranovic said he also wanted to help Australia qualify for the 2010 World Cup.

“The aim at the moment is to try and prepare a squad that will be competitive for the next World Cup and actually help get us there,” he said.

“I think there’s a lot of emphasis on the young boys coming through and they’re trying to push the young boys so that’s always fantastic for players like me.”

Spiranovic has not played for his German Bundesliga club FC Nuremberg since suffering a knee injury on October 20, but said he was fit and ready to resume his place in their defence.

“For me, personally, that’s probably the most important thing, to be playing regularly,” he said.

Spiranovic said he had not spoken with new Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek, but hoped his stint with the senior team last year would be the first of many appearances.

“Being part of that Uruguay game was something I’ll never forget, being around those boys was fantastic,” Spiranovic said.

“I think I just learned a lot being there for a week, to be honest. They’re all playing at the highest level and I’ve always looked up to those guys.

“When I look back at my career so far, the things that stand out the most to me are the times I’ve played for the Aussie teams, its always been great.”
